Worship

Worship at Christ Church is centered on The Holy Eucharist, or The Lord’s Supper.

On Sundays @ 7:30 AM & Wednesdays @ 12:00 Noon, Celebrations of the Holy Eucharist are simple, unaccompanied communion liturgies.

Celebrations of The Holy Eucharist on Sundays @ 10:00 AM are sung communion liturgies, accompanied by Organ & Choir* and feature seasonal Service Music (Mass Settings), Hymns & Anthems or Instrumental Works, Homily, & chanted Gradual Psalm, Sursum Corda, Lord’s Prayer,  & Dismissal.   Altar bells are used to signal, emphasize or call attention to certain parts of the liturgy, including the Sanctus et Benedictus & Elevation of the Holy Sacraments.

All liturgies, rites, offices, & other services are taken from The Book of Common Prayer, 1979 and/or The Book of Occasional Services, 2003.

Old & New Testament Lessons, Gradual Psalms and Gospel Readings are taken from the New Revised Standard Version of The Holy Bible & Apocrypha, as assigned in the Revised Common Lectionary.

Service Music & Hymns are taken from The Hymnal, 1982. Chant Settings for Gradual Psalms are taken from The Anglican Chant Psalter, 1987.

*The choir sings from the 1st Sunday in September thru the last Sunday in May.  In June, July & August, service accompaniment is by organ, keyboard or other musical instruments.
