"Ministry" is the word used to translate the New Testament Greek word "diakonia" and the traditional meaning of both is "service". Service to others, spiritually or otherwise, is not confined to ordained clergy or the church sanctuary. All Christians are called to ministry, to love and honor God through service to others.
